Veneration


Ukā sa, dvā ra-tayena kataṃ, sabbaṃ apā radhaṃ khamatu no (me) bhante.
We (I) ask your leave. We (I) ask you to forgive us (me) for whatever wrong we (I) have done with the three doors (of body, speech, & mind).
我(们)请您原谅。请您宽恕我(们)以(身、语、意)三门户所犯的错失。
 

Vandā mi bhante cetiyaṃ, sabbaṃ sabbattha ṭhā ne, supatiṭṭhitaṃ sā rīraṅka-dhā tuṃ, mahā -bodhiṃ buddha-rūpaṃ, sakkā ratthaṃ.
I revere every stupa established in every place, every Relic of the Buddha's body, every Great Bodhi tree, every Buddha image that is an object of veneration.
我崇敬每一座佛塔、每一片佛身舍利、每一株大菩提树、每一尊供奉的佛像。
 

Ahaṃ vandā mi dhā tuyo, ahaṃ vandā mi sabbaso, iccetaṃ ratana-tayaṃ, ahaṃ vandā mi sabbadā .
I revere the relics. I revere them everywhere. I always revere the Triple Gem.
我崇敬佛舍利。我崇敬各处的佛舍利。我常敬三宝。

Buddha-pūjā  mahā -tejavanto, Dhamma-pūjā  mahappańńo, Saṅgha-pūjā  mahā -bhogā vaho.
Homage to the Buddha brings great glory. Homage to the Dhamma, great discernment. Homage to the Saṅgha, great wealth.
礼敬世尊[薄伽梵]得大尊荣。礼敬正法得大智慧。礼敬僧伽得大财富。

Buddhaṃ Dhammaṃ Saṅghaṃ, jīvitaṃ yā va-nibbā naṃ saraṇaṃ gacchā mi.
I go to the Buddha, Dhamma, & Saṅgha as my life & refuge until reaching Liberation.
我把佛、法、僧作为生命与依止,直至证得涅槃。

Parisuddho ahaṃ bhante, parisuddhoti maṃ, Buddho Dhammo Saṅgho dhā retu.
I am morally pure. May the Buddha, Dhamma, & Saṅgha recognize me as morally pure.
我是清净的。请佛、法、僧忆持,我是清净的。

Sabbe sattā  sadā  hontu, averā  sukha-jīvino.
May all living beings always live happily, free from enmity.
愿一切众生常有喜乐,不受敌意。

Kataṃ puńńa-phalaṃ mayhaṃ, sabbe bhā gī bhavantu te.
May all share in the blessings springing from the good I have done
愿一切众生分享我善行的福果。

Morning Chanting

Arahaṃ sammā -sambuddho bhagavā .
The Blessed One is Worthy & Rightly Self-awakened.
世尊[薄伽梵,吉祥者]是阿罗汉[应供,尊贵者]、 正自觉醒者。

Buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhivā demi.
I bow down before the Awakened, Blessed One.
我顶礼世尊、觉悟者。(一拜)

Svā kkhā to bhagavatā  dhammo.
The Dhamma is well-expounded by the Blessed One.
法由世尊善说。

Dhammaṃ namassā mi.
I pay homage to the Dhamma.
我崇敬法。(一拜)

Supaṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho.
The Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples has practiced well.
世尊的声闻僧伽弟子行道正善。

Saṅghaṃ namā mi.
I pay respect to the Sangha.
我礼敬僧伽。(一拜)

INVOCATION (by leader):
起诵(领诵者):

Yam-amha kho mayaṃ bhagavantaṃ saraṇaṃ gatā ,
We have gone for refuge to the Blessed One,
我们已归依世尊,

(uddissa pabbajitā ) yo no bhagavā  satthā
(have gone forth on account of) the Blessed One who is our Teacher
(已出家,以)世尊为导师,

yassa ca mayaṃ bhagavato dhammaṃ rocema.
and in whose Dhamma we delight.
乐住于世尊之法。

Imehi sakkā rehi taṃ bhagavantaṃ sasaddhammaṃ sasā vaka-saṅghaṃ abhipūjayā ma.
With these offerings we worship most highly that Blessed One together with the True Dhamma & the Sangha of his disciples.
以这些供奉,我们对世尊、真法、他的声闻僧伽弟子,致以最高的礼敬。

Handa mayaṃ buddhassa bhagavato pubba-bhā ga-namakā raṃ karoma se:
Now let us chant the preliminary passage in homage to the Awakened One, the Blessed One:
现在,让我们持诵礼敬觉者、世尊的初诵文:

[Namo tassa] bhagavato arahato sammā -sambuddhassa. (Three times.)
Homage to the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Rightly Self-awakened One.

Praise for the Buddha

Handa mayaṃ buddhā bhithutiṃ karoma se:
Now let us give high praise to the Awakened One:
现在让我们赞颂佛陀:

[Yo so tathā gato] arahaṃ sammā -sambuddho,
He who has attained the Truth, the Worthy One, Rightly Self-awakened,
如来[得悟真相者]、尊贵者、正自觉者,


Vijjā -caraṇa-sampanno sugato lokavidū,
consummate in knowledge & conduct, one who has gone the good way, knower of the cosmos,
明行足、善逝者、世间解,


Anuttaro purisa-damma-sā rathi satthā  deva-manussā naṃ buddho bhagavā ;
unexcelled trainer of those who can be taught, teacher of human & divine beings; awakened; blessed;
无上调御者、天人师、佛、世尊;

Yo imaṃ lokaṃ sadevakaṃ samā rakaṃ sabrahmakaṃ,
Sassamaṇa-brā hmaṇiṃ pajaṃ sadeva-manussaṃ sayaṃ abhińńā  sacchikatvā  pavedesi.
who made known — having realized it through direct knowledge — this world with its devas, mā ras, & brahmas, its generations with their contemplatives & priests, their rulers & common people;
他在亲证了法之后,在这个有天神、魔罗、梵天、行者僧侣、王者平民的世界上宣讲;

Yo dhammaṃ desesi ā di-kalyā ṇaṃ majjhe-kalyā ṇaṃ pariyosā na-kalyā ṇaṃ;
who explained the Dhamma fine in the beginning, fine in the middle, fine in the end;
他解说的法义,始善、中善、后善;

Tam-ahaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhipūjayā mi,
who expounded the holy life both in its particulars & in its essence, entirely complete, surpassingly pure:
他讲述的梵行,在细节与要义上,圆满具足、清净非凡:

Tam-ahaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhipūjayā mi,
Tam-ahaṃ bhagavantaṃ sirasā  namā mi.
I worship most highly that Blessed One,
To that Blessed One I bow my head down.
我向那位世尊致以最高的崇敬。
我俯首顶礼那位世尊。(一拜)

[Yo so svā kkhā to] bhagavatā  dhammo,
The Dhamma well-expounded by the Blessed One,
法由世尊善说,

Sandiṭṭhiko akā liko ehipassiko,
to be seen here & now, timeless, inviting all to come & see,
即时即地可见、无时相、邀人亲证,

Opanayiko paccattaṃ veditabbo vińńūhi:
leading inward, to be seen by the wise for themselves:
向內观照、由智者各自证知。

Tam-ahaṃ dhammaṃ abhipūjayā mi,
Tam-ahaṃ dhammaṃ sirasā  namā mi.

I worship most highly that Dhamma,
To that Dhamma I bow my head down.
我向那[真]法致以最高的崇敬。
我俯首顶礼那[真]法。(一拜)

Praise for the Sangha

Handa mayaṃ saṅghā bhithutiṃ karoma se:
Now let us give high praise to the Sangha:
现在让我们赞颂僧伽:

(ALL):
(全体):

[Yo so supaṭipanno] bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
The Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced well,
世尊的声闻僧伽弟子行道正善,

Uju-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced straightforwardly,
世尊的声闻僧伽弟子行道正直,

Ńā ya-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced methodically,
世尊的声闻僧伽弟子行道有方,

Sā mīci-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced masterfully,
世尊的声闻僧伽弟子行道卓越,

Yadidaṃ cattā ri purisa-yugā ni aṭṭha purisa-puggalā :
i.e., the four pairs — the eight types — of Noble Ones:
他们是四双、八辈圣者:

Esa bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho —
That is the Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples —
那便是世尊的声闻僧伽弟子——

AAhuneyyo pā huneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo ańjali-karaṇīyo,
worthy of gifts, worthy of hospitality, worthy of offerings, worthy of respect,
值得布施、值得礼遇、值得供养、值得尊敬,

Anuttaraṃ puńńakkhettaṃ lokassa:
the incomparable field of merit for the world:
是世界的无上福田:

Tam-ahaṃ saṅghaṃ abhipūjayā mi,
Tam-ahaṃ saṅghaṃ sirasā  namā mi.

I worship most highly that Sangha,
To that Sangha I bow my head down.
我向那个僧伽致以最高的崇敬。
我俯首顶礼那个僧伽。(一拜)

Salutation to the Triple Gem
& The Topics for Chastened Dispassion


(领诵者):

Handa mayaṃ ratanattayappaṇā ma-gā thā yo ceva saṃvega-vatthu-paridīpaka-pā ṭhańca bhaṇā ma se:
Now let us recite the stanzas in salutation to the Triple Gem together with the passage on the topics inspiring a sense of chastened dispassion:
现在让我们诵持礼敬三宝与警悟出离偈:

(ALL):
(全体):

[Buddho susuddho] karuṇā -mahaṇṇavo,
Yoccanta-suddhabbara-ńā ṇa-locano,
Lokassa pā pūpakilesa-ghā tako:
Vandā mi buddhaṃ aham-ā darena taṃ.

The Buddha, well-purified, with ocean-like compassion,
Possessed of the eye of knowledge completely purified,
Destroyer of the evils & corruptions of the world:
I revere that Buddha with devotion.
佛陀圆满清净,悲心似海,拥有具足清净的智慧眼,
是世间邪恶与垢染的摧毁者,我虔诚地礼敬那位佛陀。

Dhammo padīpo viya tassa satthuno,
Yo magga-pā kā mata-bhedabhinnako,
Lokuttaro yo ca tad-attha-dīpano:
Vandā mi dhammaṃ aham-ā darena taṃ
. The Teacher's Dhamma, like a lamp,
divided into Path, Fruition, & the Deathless,
both transcendent (itself) & showing the way to that goal:
I revere that Dhamma with devotion.
世尊之法,如一盏明灯,分为道、果、涅槃,
既自超世、又指明超世之道,我虔诚地礼敬那真法。

Saṅgho sukhettā bhyatikhetta-sańńito,
Yo diṭṭha-santo sugatā nubodhako,
Lolappahīno ariyo sumedhaso:
Vandā mi saṅghaṃ aham-ā darena taṃ.
The Sangha, called a field better than the best,
who have seen peace, awakening after the one gone the good way,
who have abandoned carelessness — the noble ones, the wise:
I revere that Sangha with devotion.
僧伽被称为无上福田,他们追随善逝者证得宁静、觉醒,
已断除不慎——是圣者与智者:
我虔诚地礼敬那个僧伽。

Iccevam-ekant'abhipūjaneyyakaṃ,
Vatthuttayaṃ vandayatā bhisaṅkhataṃ,
Puńńaṃ mayā  yaṃ mama sabbupaddavā ,
Mā  hontu ve tassa pabhā va-siddhiyā .

By the power of the merit I have made
in giving reverence to the Triple Gem
worthy of only the highest homage,
may all my obstructions cease to be.

三宝值得最高的礼敬,以此崇敬三宝的福德之力,愿我的一切障碍止息。



Idha tathā gato loke uppanno arahaṃ sammā -sambuddho,
Here, One attained to the Truth, Worthy & Rightly Self-awakened, has appeared in the world,
在此,如来、阿罗汉、正自觉者,已现于世,

Dhammo ca desito niyyā niko upasamiko parinibbā niko sambodhagā mī sugatappavedito.
And Dhamma is explained, leading out (of samsara), calming, tending toward total Nibbana, going to self-awakening, declared by one who has gone the good way.
所讲解的法,引导出离(轮回)、得宁静、趋向究竟涅槃、得自觉醒、由善逝者宣说。

Mayan-taṃ dhammaṃ sutvā  evaṃ jā nā ma,
Having heard the Dhamma, we know this:
我们闻法而知:

Jā tipi dukkhā  jarā pi dukkhā  maraṇampi dukkhaṃ,
Birth is stressful, aging is stressful, death is stressful,
生苦、老苦、死苦,

Soka-parideva-dukkha-domanassupā yā sā pi dukkhā ,
Sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress, & despair are stressful,
忧、哀、痛、悲、惨苦,

Appiyehi sampayogo dukkho piyehi vippayogo dukkho yamp'icchaṃ na labhati tampi dukkhaṃ,
Association with things disliked is stressful, separation from things liked is stressful, not getting what one wants is stressful,
与不爱者相处苦、与爱者离别苦、所求不得苦,

Saṅkhittena pańcupā dā nakkhandhā  dukkhā ,
In short, the five clinging-aggregates are stressful,
简言之,五种执取之蕴苦,

Seyyathīdaṃ:
Namely:
即:

Rūpūpā dā nakkhandho,
Form as a clinging-aggregate,
色为执蕴,

Vedanūpā dā nakkhandho,
Feeling as a clinging-aggregate,
受为执蕴,

Sańńūpā dā nakkhandho,
Perception as a clinging-aggregate,
想为执蕴,

Saṅkhā rūpā dā nakkhandho,
Mental processes as a clinging-aggregate,
行为执蕴,

Vińńā ṇūpā dā nakkhandho.
Consciousness as a clinging-aggregate.
识为执蕴,

Yesaṃ parińńā ya,
Dharamā no so bhagavā ,
Evaṃ bahulaṃ sā vake vineti,

So that they might fully understand this, the Blessed One, while still alive, often instructed his listeners in this way;
世尊住世时,为使听众详解这[五蕴],常如是教诲弟子,

Evaṃ bhā gā  ca panassa bhagavato sā vakesu anusā sanī,
Bahulaṃ pavattati:

Many times did he emphasize this part of his admonition:
曾多次强调这段教诫:

"Rūpaṃ aniccaṃ,
"Form is inconstant,
色无常,

Vedanā  aniccā ,
Feeling is inconstant,
受无常,

Sańńā  aniccā ,
Perception is inconstant,
想无常,

Saṅkhā rā  aniccā ,
Mental processes are inconstant,
行无常,

Vińńā ṇaṃ aniccaṃ,
Consciousness is inconstant,
识无常,

Rūpaṃ anattā ,
Form is not-self,
色非我,

Vedanā  anattā ,
Feeling is not-self,
受非我,

Sańńā  anattā ,
Perception is not-self,
想非我,

Saṅkhā rā  anattā ,
Mental processes are not-self,
行非我,

Vińńā ṇaṃ anattā ,
Consciousness is not-self,
识非我,

Sabbe saṅkhā rā  aniccā ,
All processes are inconstant,
诸行无常,


Sabbe dhammā  anattā ti."
All phenomena are not-self."
诸法非我,

Te (WOMEN:  女众念: )
mayaṃ,
Otiṇṇā mha jā tiyā  jarā -maraṇena,
Sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi upā yā sehi,
Dukkh'otiṇṇā  dukkha-paretā ,

All of us, beset by birth, aging, & death, by sorrows, lamentations, pains, distresses, & despairs, beset by stress, overcome with stress, (consider),
我们都为生、老、死所困扰,为忧、哀、痛、悲、惨所困扰,(这样想:)

"Appeva nā m'imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriyā  pańńā yethā ti!"
"O, that the end of this entire mass of suffering & stress might be known!"
"啊,这若大一团忧苦怎样才得止息!"

* (MONKS & NOVICES):
(比丘与沙弥诵):

Cira-parinibbutampi taṃ bhagavantaṃ uddissa arahantaṃ sammā -sambuddhaṃ,
Saddhā  agā rasmā  anagā riyaṃ pabbajitā .

Though the total Liberation of the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Rightly Self-awakened One, was long ago, we have gone forth in faith from home to homelessness in dedication to him.
世尊、阿罗汉、正自觉者入般涅槃为时已久,我们信赖他、崇敬他而出家。

Tasmiṃ bhagavati brahma-cariyaṃ carā ma,
We practice that Blessed One's holy life,
我们修习世尊教导的梵行,

(Bhikkhūnaṃ sikkhā -sā jīva-samā pannā .
Fully endowed with the bhikkhus' training & livelihood.)
(完整奉行比丘的训练与生活。)

Taṃ no brahma-cariyaṃ,
Imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriyā ya saṃvattatu.

May this holy life of ours bring about the end of this entire mass of suffering & stress.
愿我们的梵行之力,令这一整团忧苦止息。

* (OTHERS):
(其余者诵:)

Cira-parinibbutampi taṃ bhagavantaṃ saraṇaṃ gatā ,
Dhammańca bhikkhu-saṅghańca,

Though the total Liberation of the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Rightly Self-awakened One, was long ago, we have gone for refuge in him, in the Dhamma, & in the Bhikkhu Sangha,
尽管世尊、阿罗汉、正自觉者入般涅槃为时已久,我们归依佛、法、比丘僧伽,

Tassa bhagavato sā sanaṃ yathā -sati yathā -balaṃ manasikaroma,
Anupaṭipajjā ma,

We attend to the instruction of the Blessed One, as far as our mindfulness & strength will allow, and we practice accordingly.
我们奉行世尊的教诲,尽自己的念与力,如法修行。

Sā  sā  no paṭipatti,
Imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriyā ya saṃvattatu.

May this practice of ours bring about the end of this entire mass of suffering & stress.
愿我们的修行之力,令这一整团忧苦止息。

Reflection at the Moment of Using the Requisites


(LEADER):
(领诵者):

Handa mayaṃ taṅkhaṇika-paccavekkhaṇa-pā ṭhaṃ bhaṇā ma se:
Now let us recite the passage for reflection at the moment (of using the requisites):
现在让我们持诵当下省思(受用品)偈:

(ALL):
(全体):

[Paṭisaṅkhā  yoniso] cīvaraṃ paṭisevā mi,
Considering it thoughtfully, I use the robe,
仔细省思,我用衣袍,

Yā vadeva sītassa paṭighā tā ya,
Simply to counteract the cold,
只为御寒,

Uṇhassa paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the heat,
蔽热,

Ḍaṃsa-makasa-vā tā tapa-siriṃsapa-samphassā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the touch of flies, mosquitoes, wind, sun, & reptiles;
抵挡蚊蝇、风吹、日晒、爬虫侵袭;

Yā vadeva hirikopina-paṭicchā dan'atthaṃ.
Simply for the purpose of covering the parts of the body that cause shame.
只为遮蔽私处。

Paṭisaṅkhā  yoniso piṇḍapā taṃ paṭisevā mi,
Considering it thoughtfully, I use alms food,
仔细省思,我用钵食,

Neva davā ya na madā ya na maṇḍanā ya na vibhūsanā ya,
Not playfully, nor for intoxication, nor for putting on bulk, nor for beautification,
非为玩乐、非为纵情、非为增重、非为美化,

Yā vadeva imassa kā yassa ṭhitiyā  yā panā ya vihiṃsuparatiyā  brahma-cariyā nuggahā ya,
But simply for the survival & continuance of this body, for ending its afflictions, for the support of the holy life,
只为这个色身的生存与维持、为止其伤痛、为继续梵行,

Iti purā ṇańca vedanaṃ paṭihaṅkhā mi navańca vedanaṃ na uppā dessā mi,
(Thinking,) Thus will I destroy old feelings (of hunger) and not create new feelings (from overeating).
(要这样思索:) 因此我要消除旧的(饥饿)之感,不造新的(饱涨)之感 。

Yā trā  ca me bhavissati anavajjatā  ca phā su-vihā ro cā ti.
I will maintain myself, be blameless, & live in comfort.
我要自律、无咎、安住

Paṭisaṅkhā  yoniso senā sanaṃ paṭisevā mi,
Considering it thoughtfully, I use the lodging,
仔细省思,我用房舍,

Yā vadeva sītassa paṭighā tā ya,
Simply to counteract the cold,
只为御寒,

Uṇhassa paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the heat,
蔽热,


Daṃsa-makasa-vā tā tapa-siriṃsapa-samphassā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the touch of flies, mosquitoes, wind, sun, & reptiles;
抵挡蚊蝇、风吹、日晒、爬虫侵袭;

Yā vadeva utuparissaya-vinodanaṃ paṭisallā nā rā m'atthaṃ.
Simply for protection from the inclemencies of weather and for the enjoyment of seclusion.
只为抵挡不良气候、利于独居。

Paṭisaṅkhā  yoniso gilā na-paccaya-bhesajja-parikkhā raṃ paṭisevā mi,
Considering them thoughtfully, I use medicinal requisites for curing the sick,
仔细省思,我用药品治疗疾病,

Yā vadeva uppannā naṃ veyyā bā dhikā naṃ vedanā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
Simply to counteract any pains of illness that have arisen,
只为抵挡已有的病痛,

Abyā pajjha-paramatā yā ti.
And for maximum freedom from disease.
也为尽量免染疾症。

Evening Chanting


Arahaṃ sammā -sambuddho bhagavā .
The Blessed One is Worthy & Rightly Self-awakened.
世尊是尊贵的正自觉醒者。

Buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhivā demi.
I bow down before the Awakened, Blessed One.
我礼敬世尊、觉悟者。(一拜)

The Dhamma is well-expounded by the Blessed One.
法由世尊善为解说。

Dhammaṃ namassā mi.
I pay homage to the Dhamma.

The Sangha of the Blessed One's disciples has practiced well.

Yam-amha kho mayaṃ bhagavantaṃ saraṇaṃ gatā ,
We have gone for refuge to the Blessed One,
我们已归依世尊,

(uddissa pabbajitā ) yo no bhagavā  satthā
(have gone forth on account of) the Blessed One who is our Teacher
(已出家,以)世尊为导师,

yassa ca mayaṃ bhagavato dhammaṃ rocema.
and in whose Dhamma we delight.
乐住于世尊之法。

Imehi sakkā rehi taṃ bhagavantaṃ sasaddhammaṃ sasā vaka-saṅghaṃ abhipūjayā ma.
With these offerings we worship most highly that Blessed One together with the True Dhamma & the Saṅgha of his disciples.
以这些供奉,我们对世尊、真法、他的弟子僧伽,致以最高的礼敬。

Handadā ni mayantaṃ bhagavantaṃ vā cā ya abhigā yituṃ pubba-bhā ga-namakā rańceva buddhā nussati-nayańca karoma se:
Now let us chant the preliminary passage in homage to the Blessed One, together with the guide to the recollection of the Buddha:
现在,让我们诵持礼敬世尊与忆念佛陀的偈句:

A Guide to the Recollection of the Buddha


[Taṃ kho pana bhagavantaṃ] evaṃ kalyā ṇo kitti-saddo abbhuggato,
This fine report of the Blessed One's reputation has spread far & wide:
世尊的盛名广传:

Itipi so bhagavā  arahaṃ sammā -sambuddho,
He is a Blessed One, a Worthy One, a Rightly Self-awakened One,
他是一位世尊、尊贵者、正自觉者、

Vijjā -caraṇa-sampanno sugato lokavidū,
consummate in knowledge & conduct, one who has gone the good way, knower of the cosmos,
明行足、善逝者、世间解、

Anuttaro purisa-damma-sā rathi satthā  deva-manussā naṃ buddho bhagavā ti.
unexcelled trainer of those who can be taught, teacher of human & divine beings; awakened; blessed.
无上调御者、人天之师、佛、世尊。

集清净、无上智慧、慈悲于一身。

Bodhesi yo sujanataṃ kamalaṃ va sūro,
He awakens good people like the sun does the lotus.
他使善士觉醒,如日照使莲花盛开。

Vandā m'ahaṃ tam-araṇaṃ sirasā  jinendaṃ.
I revere with my head that Peaceful One, the Conqueror Supreme.
我顶礼宁静者、无上调御者。

Buddho yo sabba-pā ṇīnaṃ
Saraṇaṃ khemam-uttamaṃ.

The Buddha who for all beings is the secure, the highest refuge,
佛陀是一切众生安全、至高的归依处,

Paṭhamā nussatiṭṭhā naṃ
Vandā mi taṃ sirenahaṃ,

The first theme for recollection: I revere him with my head.
第一次忆念,我俯首顶礼他。

Buddhassā hasmi dā so (WOMEN 女众念: dā sī) va
Buddho me sā mikissaro.

I am the Buddha's servant, the Buddha is my sovereign master,
我是佛的仆侍,佛陀是我的主导宗师,

Buddho dukkhassa ghā tā  ca
Vidhā tā  ca hitassa me.

The Buddha is a destroyer of suffering & a provider of welfare for me.
佛陀为我摧毁苦,给我幸福。

Buddhassā haṃ niyyā demi
Sarīrańjīvitańcidaṃ.

To the Buddha I dedicate this body & this life of mine.
我对佛陀奉献此身此世。

Vandanto'haṃ (Vandantī'haṃ) carissā mi
Buddhasseva subodhitaṃ.

I will fare with reverence for the Buddha's genuine Awakening.
我将奉行对佛陀真悟的崇敬。

N'atthi me saraṇaṃ ańńaṃ,
Buddho me saraṇaṃ varaṃ:

I have no other refuge, the Buddha is my foremost refuge:
我别无依止,佛陀是我的至高依止:

Etena sacca-vajjena,
Vaḍḍheyyaṃ satthu-sā sane.

By the speaking of this truth, may I grow in the Teacher's instruction.
以此真语之力,愿我在尊师的教诲中成长。

Sabbe pi antarā yā  me,
Mā hesuṃ tassa tejasā .

Through the power of the merit here produced by my reverence for the Buddha, may all my obstructions cease to be.

Opanayiko paccattaṃ veditabbo vińńūhīti.
leading inward, to be seen by the wise for themselves.
向内观照、由智者各自证知。

Dhammo kuloka-patanā  tadadhā ri-dhā rī.
The Dhamma protects those who hold to it from falling into miserable worlds.

I revere that foremost Dhamma, the destroyer of darkness.

Uju-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced straightforwardly,
世尊的僧伽弟子行道正直,

Ńā ya-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced methodically,
世尊的僧伽弟子行道有方,

Sā mīci-paṭipanno bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho,
the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced masterfully,
世尊的僧伽弟子行道卓越,

Yadidaṃ cattā ri purisa-yugā ni aṭṭha purisa-puggalā :
i.e., the four pairs — the eight types — of Noble Ones:
他们是四双、八辈圣者:

Esa bhagavato sā vaka-saṅgho —
That is the Saṅgha of the Blessed One's disciples —
那便是世尊的僧伽弟子——

AAhuneyyo pā huneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo ańjali-karaṇīyo,
worthy of gifts, worthy of hospitality, worthy of offerings, worthy of respect,
值得布施、值得礼遇、值得供养、值得尊敬,

Anuttaraṃ puńńakkhettaṃ lokassā ti.
the incomparable field of merit for the world.
是世界的无上福田。

无上僧伽由八辈圣者组成,

Reflection after Using the Requisites

Handa mayaṃ atīta-paccavekkhaṇa-pā ṭhaṃ bhaṇā ma se:
Now let us recite the passage for reflection on the past (use of the requisites):
现在让我们持诵过后省思(收用品)偈:

[Ajja mayā ] apaccavekkhitvā  yaṃ cīvaraṃ paribhuttaṃ,
Whatever robe I used today without consideration,
凡是今日我未经省思而用的衣袍,

Taṃ yā vadeva sītassa paṭighā tā ya,
Was simply to counteract the cold,
只为御寒,

Uṇhassa paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the heat,
蔽热,

Ḍaṃsa-makasa-vā tā tapa-siriṃsapa-samphassā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the touch of flies, mosquitoes, wind, sun, & reptiles;
抵挡蚊蝇、风吹、日晒、爬虫侵袭;

Yā vadeva hirikopina-paṭicchā dan'atthaṃ.
Simply for the purpose of covering the parts of the body that cause shame.
只为遮蔽私处。

Ajja mayā  apaccavekkhitvā  yo piṇḍapatto paribhutto,
Whatever alms food I used today without consideration,
凡是今日我未经省思而用的钵食 ,

So neva davā ya na madā ya na maṇḍanā ya na vibhūsanā ya,
Was not used playfully, nor for intoxication, nor for putting on bulk, nor for beautification,
非为玩乐、非为纵情、非为增重、非为美化,

Yā vadeva imassa kā yassa ṭhitiyā  yā panā ya vihiṃsuparatiyā  brahma-cariyā nuggahā ya,
But simply for the survival & continuance of this body, for ending its afflictions, for the support of the holy life,
只为这个色身的生存与维持、为止其伤痛、为继续梵行,

Iti purā ṇańca vedanaṃ paṭihaṅkhā mi navańca vedanaṃ na uppā dessā mi,
(Thinking,) Thus will I destroy old feelings (of hunger) and not create new feelings (from overeating).
(要这样思索:) 因此我要消除旧的(饥饿)之感,不造新的(饱涨)之感 。

Yā trā  ca me bhavissati anavajjatā  ca phā su-vihā ro cā ti.
I will maintain myself, be blameless, & live in comfort.
我要自律、无咎、安住。

Ajja mayā  apaccavekkhitvā  yaṃ senā sanaṃ paribhuttaṃ,
Whatever lodging I used today without consideration,
凡是今日我未经省思而用的房舍,

Taṃ yā vadeva sītassa paṭighā tā ya,
Was simply to counteract the cold,
只为御寒,

Uṇhassa paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the heat,
蔽热,


Ḍaṃsa-makasa-vā tā tapa-siriṃsapa-samphassā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
To counteract the touch of flies, mosquitoes, wind, sun, & reptiles;
抵挡蚊蝇、风吹、日晒、爬虫侵袭;

Yā vadeva utuparissaya-vinodanaṃ paṭisallā nā rā m'atthaṃ.
Simply for protection from the inclemencies of weather and for the enjoyment of seclusion.
只为抵挡不良气候、利于独居。

Ajja mayā  apaccavekkhitvā  yo gilā na-paccaya-bhesajja-parikkhā ro paribhutto,
Whatever medicinal requisite for curing the sick I used today without consideration,
凡是今日我未经省思而用的治病之药,

So yā vadeva uppannā naṃ veyyā bā dhikā naṃ vedanā naṃ paṭighā tā ya,
Was simply to counteract any pains of illness that had arisen,
只为抵挡已有的病痛,

Abyā pajjha-paramatā yā ti.
And for maximum freedom from disease.
也为尽量避染疾症。

Five Subjects for Frequent Recollection

现在让我们诵持常念之偈:

Jarā-dhammomhi jaraṃ anatīto.
I am subject to aging. Aging is unavoidable.
我会经历衰老,衰老不可避免。

Byādhi-dhammomhi byādhiṃ anatīto.
I am subject to illness. Illness is unavoidable.
我会经历疾病,疾病不可避免。

Maraṇa-dhammomhi maraṇaṃ anatīto.
I am subject to death. Death is unavoidable.
我会经历死亡,死亡不可避免。

Sabbehi me piyehi manāpehi nānā-bhāvo vinā-bhāvo.
I will grow different, separate from all that is dear & appealing to me.
我会变得与过去不同,与一切可亲可爱的人事分离。

Kammassakomhi kamma-dāyādo kamma-yoni kamma-bandhu kamma-paṭisaraṇo.
I am the owner of my actions, heir to my actions, born of my actions, related through my actions, and live dependent on my actions.
我是自己的业的主人、业的继承人、因我的业而生、由我的业相联、依我的业而活。

Yaṃ kammaṃ karissāmi kalyāṇaṃ vā pāpakaṃ vā tassa dāyādo bhavissāmi.
Whatever I do, for good or for evil, to that will I fall heir.
无论我做什么,是善是恶,我自受业报。

Evaṃ amhehi abhiṇhaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ.
We should often reflect on this.
我们应当常作此念。



贤友偈 [go to toc]
The Verses on Friends


Ańńadatthu haro mitto
One who makes friends only to cheat them,
交友只为欺诈的人、

Yo ca mitto vacī-paramo,
one who is good only in word,
言而无信的人、

Anupiyańca yo āhu,
one who flatters & cajoles,
阿谀哄骗的人、

Apāyesu ca yo sakhā,
and a companion in ruinous fun:
追求有害娱乐的同伴:

Ete amitte cattāro
Iti vińńāya paṇḍito

These four the wise know as non-friends.
这四类,智者知其非友。

Ārakā parivajjeyya
Avoid them from afar,
远离他们,

Maggaṃ paṭibhayaṃ yathā.
like a dangerous road.
如避险道。

Upakāro ca yo mitto,
A friend who is helpful,
乐助的友人、

Sukha-dukkho ca yo sakhā,
one who shares in your sorrows & joys,
与你分担忧喜的人、

Atthakkhāyī ca yo mitto,
one who points you to worthwhile things,
指点你趋向善益的人、


Yo ca mittānukampako,
one sympathetic to friends:
同情友伴的人:

Etepi mitte cattāro
Iti vińńāya paṇḍito

These four, the wise know as true friends.
这四类,智者知其为真友。

Sakkaccaṃ payirupāseyya
Attend to them earnestly,
殷切关心他们,

Mātā puttaṃ va orasaṃ.
as a mother her child.
如母亲照顾孩子。



礼敬偈 [go to toc]
The Verses on Respect



Satthu-garu dhamma-garu
One with respect for the Buddha & Dhamma,
礼敬佛与法者、

Saṅghe ca tibba-gāravo,
and strong respect for the Saṅgha,
礼敬僧伽者、

Samādhi-garu ātāpī,
one who is ardent, with respect for concentration,
礼敬奢摩他并精勤修习者、

Sikkhāya tibba-gāravo,
and strong respect for the Training,
礼敬训练者、

Appamāda-garu bhikkhu,
one who sees danger and respects being heedful,
见危而礼敬慎行者、

Paṭisanthāra-gāravo:
and shows respect in welcoming guests:
礼敬宾客者:

Abhabbo parihānāya,
A person like this cannot decline,
这样的人,不会退堕,

Nibbānasseva santike,
stands right in the presence of Nibbana.
与涅槃同存。



四圣谛偈 [go to toc]
The Verses on the Noble Truths


Ye dukkhaṃ nappajānanti
Those who don't discern suffering,
不能辨识苦、

Atho dukkhassa sambhavaṃ
suffering's cause,
苦因、

Yattha ca sabbaso dukkhaṃ
Asesaṃ uparujjhati,

and where it totally stops, without trace,
何处彻底终止苦、

Tańca maggaṃ na jānanti,
who don't understand the path,
不了解正道、

Dukkhūpasama-gāminaṃ
the way to the stilling of suffering:
灭苦之道者:

Ceto-vimutti-hīnā te
They are far from awareness-release,
他们远离心解脱,

Atho pańńā-vimuttiyā,
and discernment-release.
与慧解脫。

Abhabbā te anta-kiriyāya
Incapable of making an end,
不能終止,

Te ve jāti-jarūpagā.
they'll return to birth & aging again.
他们会一次次重生与衰老。

Ye ca dukkhaṃ pajānanti
While those who do discern suffering,
而那些辨识苦、

Atho dukkhassa sambhavaṃ,
suffering's cause,
苦因、

Yattha ca sabbaso dukkhaṃ
Asesaṃ uparujjhati,

and where it totally stops, without trace,
何处彻底终止苦、

Tańca maggaṃ pajānanti,
who understand the path,
理解正道、

Dukkhūpasama-gāminaṃ:
the way to the stilling of suffering:
灭苦之道者:

Ceto-vimutti-sampannā
They are consummate in awareness-release,
他們具足心解脫、

Atho pańńā-vimuttiyā,
and in discernment-release.
慧解脫。

Bhabbā te anta-kiriyāya
Capable of making an end,
会有终止,

Na te jāti-jarūpagāti.
they won't return to birth & aging ever again.
他们不再重生与衰老。

The Four Dhamma Summaries



1. Upanīyati loko,
The world is swept away.
世界冲卷而去,

Addhuvo.
It does not endure.
它不持久。

2. Atāṇo loko,
The world offers no shelter.
世界无安居处,

Anabhissaro.
There is no one in charge.
无人掌管。

3. Assako loko,
The world has nothing of its own.
世界空无所有,

Sabbaṃ pahāya gamanīyaṃ.
One has to pass on
leaving everything behind.
人必须把一切留在身后。

4. UUno loko,
The world is insufficient,
世界不满意,

Atitto,
insatiable,
无餍足,

Taṇhā dāso.
a slave to craving.
受渴求的奴役。



四梵住/四无量心 [go to toc]
The Sublime Attitudes



Ahaṃ sukhito homi
May I be happy.
愿我得喜乐。

Niddukkho homi
May I be free from stress & pain.
愿我离忧苦。

Avero homi
May I be free from animosity.
愿我不受敌意。


Abyāpajjho homi
May I be free from oppression.
愿我不受压迫。


Anīgho homi
May I be free from trouble.
愿我免遭困难。


Sukhī attānaṃ pariharāmi
May I look after myself with ease.
愿我轻松照顾自己。

(METTĀ — GOOD WILL)


Sabbe sattā sukhitā hontu.
May all living beings be happy.
愿一切众生得喜乐。

Sabbe sattā averā hontu.
May all living beings be free from animosity.
愿一切众生不受敌意[无怨]

Sabbe sattā abyāpajjhā hontu.
May all living beings be free from oppression.
愿一切众生不受压迫[无瞋]

Sabbe sattā anīghā hontu.
May all living beings be free from trouble.
愿一切众生免遭困难[无忧]

Sabbe sattā sukhī attānaṃ pariharantu.
May all living beings look after themselves with ease.
愿一切众生轻松照顾自己[善守各自的安乐]

(KARUĀ — COMPASSION)



Sabbe sattā sabba-dukkhā pamuccantu.
May all living beings be freed from all stress & pain.
愿一切众生脱离忧苦。

(MUDITĀ — APPRECIATION)


Sabbe sattā laddha-sampattito mā vigacchantu.
May all living beings not be deprived of the good fortune they have attained.
愿一切众生不失所得的善运。

(UPEKKHĀ — EQUANIMITY)


Sabbe sattā kammassakā kamma-dāyādā kamma-yonī kamma-bandhū kamma-paṭisaraṇā.
All living beings are the owners of their actions, heir to their actions, born of their actions, related through their actions, and live dependent on their actions.
一切众生是自己业的主人、业的继承人、由业而生、因业相联、依业而活。

Yaṃ kammaṃ karissanti kalyāṇaṃ vā pāpakaṃ vā tassa dāyādā bhavissanti.
Whatever they do, for good or for evil, to that will they fall heir.
无论所作,为善为恶,他们自受业报。



Sabbe sattā sadā hontu
Averā sukha-jīvino.

May all beings live happily,
always free from animosity.
愿一切众生生活幸福,永远不受敌意。

Kataṃ puńńa-phalaṃ mayhaṃ
Sabbe bhāgī bhavantu te.

May all share in the blessings
springing from the good I have done.
愿一切众生分享我行善的福果。




Hotu sabbaṃ sumaṅgalaṃ
May there be every good blessing.
愿你有一切善佑。

Rakkhantu sabba-devatā
May the devas protect you.
愿天神护佑你。

Sabba-buddhānubhāvena
Through the power of all the Buddhas,
以诸佛之力,

Sotthī hontu nirantaraṃ
May you forever be well.
愿你永远安康。

Maṅgala Suttaṃ
The Discourse on Good Fortune



[Evam-me sutaṃ,] Ekaṃ samayaṃ Bhagavā, Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati, Jetavane Anāthapiṇḍikassa, ārāme.
I have heard that at one time the Blessed One was staying in Savatthi at Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's monastery.
我听说,有一次世尊住在舍卫城祇树给孤独精舍。

Atha kho ańńatarā devatā, abhikkantāya rattiyā abhikkanta-vaṇṇā kevala-kappaṃ Jetavanaṃ obhāsetvā,
yena Bhagavā ten'upasaṅkami.
Then a certain devata, in the far extreme of the night, her extreme radiance lighting up the entirety of Jeta's Grove, approached the Blessed One.
有一位天神,在深夜时分,身放强光、遍照祇树,走近世尊。

Upasaṅkamitvā Bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi.
On approaching, having bowed down to the Blessed One, she stood to one side.
走近跟前,向世尊顶礼后,她立于一旁。

Ekam-antaṃ ṭhitā kho sā devatā Bhagavantaṃ gāthāya ajjhabhāsi.
As she was standing there, she addressed a verse to the Blessed One.
立于一旁后,她对世尊说了一段偈:

"Bahū devā manussā ca
maṅgalāni acintayuṃ
Ākaṅkhamānā sotthānaṃ
brūhi maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

"Many devas & humans beings give thought to good fortune,
Desiring well-being. Tell, then, the highest good fortune."
"诸天与世人,想望吉祥、希求安宁,
以此,请宣说至高的吉祥。"

"Asevanā ca bālānaṃ
paṇḍitānańca sevanā
Pūjā ca pūjanīyānaṃ
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.
ṅot consorting with fools, consorting with the wise,
Paying homage to those who deserve homage:
This is the highest good fortune.
"远离愚人、亲近智者、礼敬值得礼敬者:
这是至高的吉祥。

Paṭirūpa-desa-vāso ca
pubbe ca kata-puńńatā
Atta-sammā-paṇidhi ca
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

Living in a civilized country, having made merit in the past,
Directing oneself rightly:
This is the highest good fortune.
依往昔所修福德、生活于文明国土、志向端正:
这是至高的吉祥。

Bāhu-saccańca sippańca
vinayo ca susikkhito
Subhāsitā ca yā vācā
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.
Broad knowledge, skill, discipline well-mastered,
Words well-spoken:
This is the highest good fortune.
博学、广能、精通律议、言语善宜:
这是至高的吉祥。

Mātā-pitu-upaṭṭhānaṃ
putta-dārassa saṅgaho
Anākulā ca kammantā
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.
Support for one's parents, assistance to one's wife & children,
Jobs that are not left unfinished:
This is the highest good fortune.
奉养父母、照顾妻儿、行事周全:
这是至高的吉祥。

Dānańca dhamma-cariyā ca
ńātakānańca saṅgaho
Anavajjāni kammāni
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

Generosity, living by the Dhamma, assistance to one's relatives,
Deeds that are blameless:
This is the highest good fortune.
布施、奉法、济助亲友、诸事无咎:
这是至高的吉祥。

Āratī viratī pāpā
majja-pānā ca sańńamo
Appamādo ca dhammesu
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

Avoiding, abstaining from evil; refraining from intoxicants,
Being heedful with regard to qualities of the mind:
This is the highest good fortune.
戒诸恶业、避诸醉品、心智警醒:
这是至高的吉祥。

Gāravo ca nivāto ca
santuṭṭhī ca katańńutā
Kālena dhammassavanaṃ
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.
Respect, humility, contentment, gratitude,
Hearing the Dhamma on timely occasions:
This is the highest good fortune.
恭敬、谦卑、知足感恩、适时闻法:
这是至高的吉祥。

Khantī ca sovacassatā
samaṇānańca dassanaṃ
Kālena dhamma-sākacchā
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

Patience, compliance, seeing contemplatives,
Discussing the Dhamma on timely occasions:
This is the highest good fortune.
忍耐、受教、亲见沙门、适时论法:
这是至高的吉祥。

Tapo ca brahma-cariyańca
ariya-saccāna-dassanaṃ
Nibbāna-sacchi-kiriyā ca
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

Austerity, celibacy, seeing the Noble Truths,
Realizing Liberation:
This is the highest good fortune.
俭朴、独身、亲见圣谛、实证涅槃:
这是至高的吉祥。

Phuṭṭhassa loka-dhammehi
cittaṃ yassa na kampati
Asokaṃ virajaṃ khemaṃ
etam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.

A mind that, when touched by the ways of the world,
Is unshaken, sorrowless, dustless, secure:
This is the highest good fortune.
心触世法、不动、不哀、无染、安住:
这是至高的吉祥。

Etādisāni katvāna
sabbattham-aparājitā
Sabbattha sotthiṃ gacchanti
tan-tesaṃ maṅgalam-uttamanti."

Everywhere undefeated when doing these things,
People go everywhere in well-being:
This is their highest good fortune."
如此行持,无往不胜、随处安宁:
这是至高的吉祥。"



三宝护卫偈 [go to toc]
Cha Ratana Paritta Gāthā
The Six Protective Verses from the Discourse on Treasures


Yaṅkińci vittaṃ idha vā huraṃ vā
Saggesu vā yaṃ ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Na no samaṃ atthi tathāgatena.
Whatever wealth in this world or the next,
Whatever exquisite treasure in the heavens,
Is not, for us, equal to the Tathagata.
此界他界的一切财富,天界的一切精妙珍宝,
对我们来说,无一可比如来之宝。

Idam-pi buddhe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Buddha.
By this truth may there be well-being.
这也是佛陀的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。

Khayaṃ virāgaṃ amataṃ paṇītaṃ
Yad-ajjhagā sakyamunī samāhito
Na tena dhammena sam'atthi kińci.

The exquisite Deathless — dispassion, ending —
Discovered by the Sakyan Sage while in concentration:
There is nothing equal to that Dhamma.
精妙的涅槃——离欲、止息——由释迦圣人定中得证:
那样的真法无以匹比。

Idam-pi dhamme ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Dhamma.
By this truth may there be well-being.
这也是法的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。

Yam-buddha-seṭṭho parivaṇṇayī suciṃ
Samādhim-ānantarik'ańńam-āhu
Samādhinā tena samo na vijjati.

What the excellent Awakened One extolled as pure
And called the concentration of unmediated knowing:
No equal to that concentration can be found.
至尊之佛,赞叹定力的清净,称它为无间之智:
那样的正定无以匹比。

Idam-pi dhamme ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Dhamma.
By this truth may there be well-being.
这也是法的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。

Ye puggalā aṭṭha sataṃ pasatthā
Cattāri etāni yugāni honti
Te dakkhiṇeyyā sugatassa sāvakā
Etesu dinnāni mahapphalāni.

The eight persons — the four pairs —
praised by those at peace:
They, disciples of the One Well-Gone, deserve offerings.
What is given to them bears great fruit.
八辈与四双,得宁静者的赞扬:
他们是值得供养的善逝者弟子。布施他们必有大果报。

Idam-pi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Sangha.
By this truth may there be well-being.
这也是僧伽的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。

Ye suppayuttā manasā daḷhena
Nikkāmino gotama-sāsanamhi
Te pattipattā amataṃ vigayha
Laddhā mudhā nibbutiṃ bhuńjamānā.

Those who, devoted, firm-minded,
Apply themselves to Gotama's message,
On attaining their goal, plunge into the Deathless,
Freely enjoying the Liberation they've gained.
虔诚、坚心的人们,奉行乔达摩的教诲,
证得目标、进入涅槃, 安享解脱之乐。

Idam-pi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Sangha.
By this truth may there be well-being.

这也是僧伽的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。

Khīṇaṃ purāṇaṃ navaṃ n'atthi sambhavaṃ
Viratta-cittāyatike bhavasmiṃ
Te khīṇa-bījā aviruḷhi-chandā
Nibbanti dhīrā yathā'yam-padīpo.

Ended the old, there is no new taking birth.
Dispassioned their minds toward further becoming,
They, with no seed, no desire for growth,
The wise, they go out like this flame.
旧业已尽,不再重生。心有离欲,不再缘起。
无再生之种,无成长之欲,智者入灭,譬如这火焰的止息。

Idam-pi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ
Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Sangha.
By this truth may there be well-being.
这也是僧伽的精妙宝藏。
以此真言,愿你有安宁。



慈经 [go to toc]
Karaṇīya Mettā Sutta
The Discourse on Loving-kindness


Karaṇīyam-attha-kusalena
yantaṃ santaṃ padaṃ abhisamecca,

This is to be done by one skilled in aims
Who wants to break through to the state of peace:
为了解脱、获得宁静,善达目标者应当这样做:

Sakko ujū ca suhujū ca
suvaco cassa mudu anatimānī,

Be capable, upright, & straightforward,
Easy to instruct, gentle, & not conceited,
能干、端正、直接、易教、温和、不自满,

Santussako ca subharo ca
appakicco ca sallahuka-vutti,

Content & easy to support, with few duties, living lightly,
知足、易养、少管事、生活简朴,

Santindriyo ca nipako ca
appagabbho kulesu ananugiddho.

With peaceful faculties, masterful, modest, & no greed for supporters.
诸根寂静、技能完善、谦虚、对供养者不贪。

Na ca khuddaṃ samācare kińci
yena vińńū pare upavadeyyuṃ.

Do not do the slightest thing that the wise would later censure.
不做任何事后受智者指责之事。

Sukhino vā khemino hontu
sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā.

Think: Happy & secure, may all beings be happy at heart.
这样想: 喜乐、平安,愿一切众生心有喜乐。

Ye keci pāṇa-bhūtatthi
tasā vā thāvarā vā anavasesā,

Whatever beings there may be, weak or strong, without exception,
一切众生,无论软弱、强壮、

Dīghā vā ye mahantā vā
majjhimā rassakā aṇuka-thūlā,

Long, large, middling, short, subtle, blatant,
长、大、中等、短小、 精细、粗显、

Diṭṭhā vā ye ca adiṭṭhā
ye ca dūre vasanti avidūre,

Seen or unseen, near or far,
可见、不可见、远、近、

Bhūtā vā sambhavesī vā
sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā.

Born or seeking birth: May all beings be happy at heart.
已出生的、将投生的: 愿一切众生心有喜乐。

Na paro paraṃ nikubbetha
nātimańńetha katthaci naṃ kińci,

Let no one deceive another or despise anyone anywhere,
愿人们不相互欺骗、不鄙视任何地方的任何人,

Byārosanā paṭīgha-sańńā
nāńńam-ańńassa dukkham-iccheyya.

Or through anger or resistance wish for another to suffer.
不以怒意、敌意,愿他人受苦。

Mātā yathā niyaṃ puttaṃ
āyusā eka-puttam-anurakkhe,

As a mother would risk her life to protect her child, her only child,
如一位母亲舍命保护亲子、独子,

Evam-pi sabba-bhūtesu
māna-sambhāvaye aparimāṇaṃ.

Even so should one cultivate a limitless heart with regard to all beings.
他更应当对一切众生,长养无量之心。

Mettańca sabba-lokasmiṃ
māna-sambhāvaye aparimāṇaṃ,

With good will for the entire cosmos, cultivate a limitless heart:
以对全宇宙的善意,长养无量之心:

Uddhaṃ adho ca tiriyańca
asambādhaṃ averaṃ asapattaṃ.

Above, below, & all around, unobstructed, without enmity or hate.
自上、自下、周遭,无障碍、无敌意、无恨意。

Tiṭṭhań'caraṃ nisinno vā
sayāno vā yāvatassa vigatam-iddho,

Whether standing, walking, sitting, or lying down,
as long as one is alert,
无论站、行、坐、卧,凡清醒时,

Etaṃ satiṃ adhiṭṭheyya
brahmam-etaṃ vihāraṃ idham-āhu.

One should be resolved on this mindfulness.
This is called a sublime abiding here & now.
他应当确立此念。
这便称为即时即地的梵住之心。

Diṭṭhińca anupagamma
sīlavā dassanena sampanno,

Not taken with views, but virtuous & consummate in vision,
不受观念左右,而有戒德与具足见,

Kāmesu vineyya gedhaṃ,
Na hi jātu gabbha-seyyaṃ punaretīti.

Having subdued desire for sensual pleasures,
One never again will lie in the womb.
断除了感官贪欲,他不再投胎。

Khandha Paritta
The Group Protection


Virūpakkhehi me mettaṃ
Mettaṃ Erāpathehi me
Chabyā-puttehi me mettaṃ
Mettaṃ Kaṇhā-Gotamakehi ca

I have good will for the Virupakkhas, the Erapathas, the Chabya descendants, & the Black Gotamakas.
我对毗楼帕卡有慈心,
我对伊罗钵多有慈心,
我对舍婆后代有慈心,
我对黑瞿昙有慈心。[注: 四词均为蛇王族名]

Apādakehi me mettaṃ
Mettaṃ di-pādakehi me
Catuppadehi me mettaṃ
Mettaṃ bahuppadehi me

I have good will for footless beings, two-footed, four-footed, & many-footed beings.
我对无足众生有慈心,
我对双足众生有慈心,
我对四足众生有慈心,
我对多足众生有慈心

Mā maṃ apādako hiṃsi
Mā maṃ hiṃsi di-pādako
Mā maṃ catuppado hiṃsi
Mā maṃ hiṃsi bahuppado

May footless beings, two-footed beings, four-footed beings, & many-footed beings do me no harm.
愿无足众生不伤害我,
愿双足众生不伤害我,
愿四足众生不伤害我,
愿多足众生不伤害我。

Sabbe sattā sabbe pāṇā
Sabbe bhūtā ca kevalā
Sabbe bhadrāni passantu
Mā kińci pāpam'āgamā

May all creatures, all breathing things, all beings — each & every one — meet with good fortune. May none of them come to any evil.
愿一切生物、一切有呼吸之物、一切众生,它们中的每一个,见到吉祥,
愿它们无一遭至险恶。

Appamāṇo Buddho,
Appamāṇo Dhammo,
Appamāṇo Saṅgho,

The Buddha, Dhamma, & Sangha are limitless.
佛无量、法无量、僧无量。

Pamāṇa-vantāni siriṃ-sapāni,
Ahi vicchikā sata-padī uṇṇānābhī sarabū mūsikā,

There is a limit to creeping things — snakes, scorpions, centipedes, spiders, lizards, & rats.
爬行众生——蛇、蝎、百足、蜘蛛、蜥蜴、鼠——有限量。

Katā me rakkhā, Katā me parittā,
Paṭikkamantu bhūtāni.

I have made this protection, I have made this spell. May the beings depart.
我作此护卫、我作此咒语。愿它们离去。

So'haṃ namo Bhagavato,
Namo sattannaṃ Sammā-sambuddhānaṃ.

I pay homage to the Blessed One, homage to the seven Rightly Self-awakened Ones.
我礼敬世尊,礼敬七位正自觉者。



佛胜吉祥偈 [go to toc]
Buddha-jaya-maṅgala Gāthā
The Verses of the Buddha's Auspicious Victories


Bāhuṃ sahassam-abhinimmita-sāvudhantaṃ
Grīmekhalaṃ udita-ghora-sasena-māraṃ
Dānādi-dhamma-vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni
[Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgal'aggaṃ].

Creating a form with 1,000 arms, each equipped with a weapon,
Mara, on the elephant Girimekhala,
uttered a frightening roar together with his troops.
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of such qualities as generosity:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
[By the power of this, may you have the highest victory blessing.]
以千手执兵器之相,魔罗身骑基里米卡拉大象,怒吼一声、率军前来,
圣者之君以布施的品质调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Mārātirekam-abhiyujjhita-sabba-rattiṃ
Ghorampan'āḷavaka-makkham-athaddha-yakkhaṃ
Khantī-sudanta-vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Even more frightful than Mara making war all night
Was Āḷavaka, the arrogant unstable ogre.
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of well-trained endurance:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
威力胜于魔罗的,是阿罗迦夜叉,急躁傲慢、连夜索战,
圣者之君以善修的忍耐调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Nāḷāgiriṃ gaja-varaṃ atimattabhūtaṃ
Dāvaggi-cakkam-asanīva sudāruṇantaṃ
Mett'ambuseka-vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Nāḷāgiri, the excellent elephant, when maddened,
Was very horrific, like a forest fire, a flaming discus, a lightning bolt.
The Lord of Sages defeated him by sprinkling the water of good will:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
良象那罗及力发怒时其态可怖,如森林之火、如火轮、又如闪电,
圣者之君洒下慈心之水调服了它: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Ukkhitta-khaggam-atihattha sudāruṇantaṃ
Dhāvan-ti-yojana-path'aṅguli-mālavantaṃ
Iddhībhisaṅkhata-mano jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Very horrific, with a sword upraised in his expert hand,
Garlanded-with-Fingers ran three leagues along the path.
The Lord of Sages defeated him with mind-fashioned marvels:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
可怕的盎掘摩罗以人指为饰,手举利剑、狂追三旬之路,
圣者之君以神通调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Katvāna kaṭṭham-udaraṃ iva gabbhinīyā
Cińcāya duṭṭha-vacanaṃ jana-kāya-majjhe
Santena soma-vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Having made a wooden belly to appear pregnant,
Cińca made a lewd accusation in the midst of the gathering.
The Lord of Sages defeated her with peaceful, gracious means:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
以木制腹部伪装身孕,旃遮当众毁谤佛陀,
圣者之君以沉默的大度调服了她: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Saccaṃ vihāya mati-saccaka-vāda-ketuṃ
Vādābhiropita-manaṃ ati-andhabhūtaṃ
Pańńā-padīpa-jalito jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Saccaka, whose provocative views had abandoned the truth,
Delighting in argument, had become thoroughly blind.
The Lord of Sages defeated him with the light of discernment:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
萨遮迦观点偏激、远离真理,好铮辩、执迷不悟,
圣者之君以明辨之光调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Nandopananda-bhujagaṃ vibudhaṃ mahiddhiṃ
Puttena thera-bhujagena damāpayanto
Iddhūpadesa-vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

Nandopananda was a serpent with great power but wrong views.
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of a display of marvels,
sending his son (Moggallana), the serpent-elder, to tame him:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
蛇王南陀巴难陀神通广大,却持妄见,圣者之君遣弟子(目建连)化为蛇相,
显现神通调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Duggāha-diṭṭhi-bhujagena sudaṭṭha-hatthaṃ
Brahmaṃ visuddhi-jutim-iddhi-bakābhidhānaṃ
Ńāṇāgadena vidhinā jitavā munindo
Tan-tejasā bhavatu te jaya-maṅgalāni.

His hands bound tight by the serpent of wrongly held views,
Baka, the Brahma, thought himself pure in his radiance & power.
The Lord of Sages defeated him by means of his words of knowledge:
By the power of this, may you have victory blessings.
梵天拔迦明亮有力,自以为清净,他的双手受妄见之蛇的紧缚,
圣者之君以智慧之言调服了他: 以此威力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Etāpi buddha-jaya-maṅgala-aṭṭha-gāthā
Yo vācano dinadine sarate matandī
Hitvān'aneka-vividhāni c'upaddavāni
Mokkhaṃ sukhaṃ adhigameyya naro sapańńo.

These eight verses of the Buddha's victory blessings:
Whatever person of discernment
Recites or recalls them day after day without lapsing,
Destroying all kinds of obstacles,
Will attain emancipation & happiness.
这八首佛胜吉祥偈: 凡有明辨者,日日持颂、忆念不息,
摧毁一切障碍,将得解脱与喜乐。

Jaya Gāthā
The Victory Protection



Mahā-kāruṇiko nātho
Hitāya sabba-pāṇinaṃ
Pūretvā pāramī sabbā
Patto sambodhim-uttamaṃ
Etena sacca-vajjena
Hotu te jaya-maṅgalaṃ

(The Buddha), our protector, with great compassion,
For the welfare of all beings,
Having fulfilled all the perfections,
Attained the highest self-awakening.
Through the speaking of this truth,
may you have a victory blessing.
佛有大悲之心,是我们的护佑,
他为众生福祉,圆满一切波罗蜜,自证无上觉醒。
以此真语之力,愿你得胜吉祥。

Jayanto bodhiyā mūle
Sakyānaṃ nandi-vaḍḍhano
Evaṃ tvam vijayo hohi
Jayassu jaya-maṅgale

Victorious at the foot of the Bodhi tree,
Was he who increased the Sakyans' delight.
May you have the same sort of victory,
May you win victory blessings.
菩提树下得胜, 他为释迦族带来欢欣。
愿你同样获胜, 愿你得胜吉祥。

Aparājita-pallaṅke
Sīse paṭhavi-pokkhare
Abhiseke sabba-buddhānaṃ
Aggappatto pamodati

At the head of the lotus leaf of the world
On the undefeated seat
Consecrated by all the Buddhas,
He rejoiced in the utmost attainment.
在世间莲叶之顶,于诸佛加持的常胜宝座之上,
他为证得至高成就而欢喜。

Sunakkhattaṃ sumaṅgalaṃ
Supabhātaṃ suhuṭṭhitaṃ
Sukhaṇo sumuhutto ca
Suyiṭṭhaṃ brahmacārisu
Padakkhiṇaṃ kāya-kammaṃ
Vācā-kammaṃ padakkhiṇaṃ
Padakkhiṇaṃ mano-kammaṃ
Paṇidhī te padakkhiṇā
Padakkhiṇāni katvāna
Labhantatthe, padakkhiṇe

A lucky star it is, a lucky blessing,
a lucky dawn, a lucky sacrifice,
a lucky instant, a lucky moment,
a lucky offering: i.e., a rightful bodily act
a rightful verbal act, a rightful mental act,
your rightful intentions
with regard to those who lead the chaste life.
Doing these rightful things,
your rightful aims are achieved.
吉祥的星辰、吉祥的祝福、吉祥的曙光、吉祥的奉献,
吉祥之时、吉祥之刻,
吉祥的供养: 即,正当的身业、语业、意业,对生活清净者心意正当。
行此正当之事,你的正当目标必得成就。
